Being a firm believer in concealed carry and in waistband holsters (IWB), I did a bit of research on what would be the best and most cost effective holster to carry my new XD-9 pistol.  I am partial to the hybrid holsters (leather backing with a molded plastic/kevlar formed shell for your particular handgun) as I have a few for other handguns I have.  They are very comfortable to wear as the leather backing rests against the skin without any protrusions and keeps your handgun very close to your body.

The Crossbreed Holster (www.crossbreedholsters.com) was my first choice for a few years, but the price of $69.75 was a bit steep and I didn't want to wait for three months or longer for it to arrive.  My research came up with two other holster makers, and I'm sure there are more out there.

First was Foxx Holsters (www.foxxholsters.onlybusiness.com).  They seem well made and charge $39.00.  Quite a bit cheaper than what Crossbreed charges.

Then I checked out Alien Gear Holsters (www.aliengearholsters.com).  For $29.88, you get a holster that not only adjusts for height and tilt, but for tightness as well with the package of screws and washers that comes with the holster.  This is what I ordered, and within ten days it arrived.  I'm still breaking it in, but so far it meets all my expectations and I'm very pleased with it.  Check it out.

Had to replace the battery in my '08 BMW R1200RT after 5 1/2 years of usage.  Did a lot of shopping around and found the best deal with Interstate Batteries.  Walked in with my old battery, they matched it,  and I walked out with the new one for $108.  Interestingly, the BMW shop wanted $209 for the "BMW" brand.  What a difference!  The closest I came to what I paid was through www.beemerboneyard.com where they asked $79.95.  However, with shipping and about a two week wait, it would have cost me over $100.  Any better deals out there?
