These are some rough versions of the ideas that went into songs for my next album, which I'm continuing to work on at the moment.

Tried something new for this week's lo-fi song: tracking live acoustic guit & triggered electric guit loops at once.

So—as you may already be aware—I recently released my split album with ishcabittle, a project which had been in the works for a long, long time (practically 2 years due to various problems, revisions, and general slownesses). Mostly they only had good things to say, but one friend in particular (whose thoughts ...

"When a mountain stream flows out of a spring beside the road, and a thirsty traveler comes along and drinks deeply, the traveler is welcome. But the mountain stream is not waiting with the intention of refreshing thirsty travelers; it is just bubbling forth, and the travelers are always welcome to help themselves. So in exactly that sense I offer my ideas." - Alan Watts

I call my early albums "lo-fi" like Tommy Wiseau calls The Room a "black comedy". Still love 'em though. :) http://buff.ly/1hyuUZY

Been sketching out some new songs using only bongos and an acoustic guitar tuned down to open C. Challenging; fun.

"No matter how corrupt and greedy our government and our corporations and our media and Wall Street and our religious and charitable organizations may become, the music will still be perfectly wonderful." - Kurt Vonnegut

Just in time for graduation season, Seven Stories Press has released a tidy new volume that collects Kurt Vonnegut’s graduation speeches, If This Isn’t Nice, What Is?, which contains nine speeches Vonnegut delivered between 1978 and 2004. After his success with Slaughterhouse-Five, Vonnegut would su

This week's lo-fi ambient song is drone-ish bass meditation on the sometimes niceness of emptiness. http://buff.ly/1k1Y9V2
