Women should limit their calorie intake to 2000 calories a day. Even within this limit, items should follow a healthy diet for women and over time their bodies needs a change. Folic found in leafy greens are needed during the years of reproduction then later, calcium to counteract osteoporosis. At all ages, sugar and alcohol should be limited.

While nothing is totally out of bounds, some items should be very limited with a diabetic diet. Leafy vegetables and fatty fish are good, and at Christmas there can be some lovely treats enjoyed if they contain cinnamon. In the summer, cool Greek yoghurt can be enjoyed and a snack of nuts will not do you any harm.

Diabetics have to be careful what they eat, and a healthy diet is vital. Fruit and vegetables are high on the list, and while sugar does not have to be excluded, it is best not to have too much. Fat can also be included as good food for diabetes but it will be best to take it in the form of fatty fish.
