My husband and I love the pups we care for in our private home , we opened up our home for dogs so that we could help those who wanted to have peace of mind when they traveled and offer the highest level of care they could have. Yes I need the income as I don't have a pension or social security , this is what I do for a living. I consider it an honest job that puts food on our table. I am passionate about the care my human clients receive and the care and love I provide for their 4 -legged friends.
In the 12 years in business I have always been up-front and honest and always my clients are given a copy of my policies to sign and receive another upon booking. I hide nothing. And, although I have a cancellation policy I have never charged anyone that had a valid reason for a cancellation such as an illness or emergency.
Stating that" its none of my business" and calling me an offensive name just does not seem valid or fair to me.
We have a 7 day cancellation policy as we do accept a limited 1-3 pets. I being the owner have the experience and knowledge of animal behavior & on occasion may take 4-5, never do I accept 10-12 animals even on days that drop and pick up may overlap. And all my clients are aware of this and trust my judgement and expertise.
Another reason for my cancellation policy is so that I and my host families have ample time to re-book those dates with another client and because we frequently decline personal activities for the dates you secure in order to be home to care for our clients pets.
With 2 days notice I got from this client I am unable to book another client or may have turned away another that really needed me.
Our guarantee to our clients when they book is that we will be there for them and will not cancel. And we will love your pet and care for them as if there were our own.
