True, technically, there are NO vegans in nature. However, it depends on what you consider being vegan.

For me, "vegan" is an ethical way of living that excludes all cruelty towards other beings, either directly - for example when someone hits a dogs, yells on a child, slaughters a calf in order to drink its mother's milk... or indirectly when someone pays a butcher, closes his or her eyes and receives a finely packed corpse which then loving serves onto the dinning table so that the family can enjoy eating killed bodies of exploited animals.

And if in that ethical living, a bug is eaten in raspberries or a fig, or a bug gets "stamped" on the front window of the driving car, or one takes a flight in an airplane that has pure skin on the first class seats, it is still ethical living. Because, it is a huge difference between an occasional bug (whose life is also valid) and a great number of exploited souls at the factory farms and shameless slaughterhouses.

Thus, the statement: "What a f***, I stepped on a bug, give me that burger..." - is just out of rational thinking.

There you go, some food for thought.

When can corn be eaten raw?

Young sweet corn contains mostly simple sugars that we can digest easily. The older the corn gets and the more time passes since its harvest, the more its simple sugars convert into starch that is hard to digest and then it has to be cooked to be eaten.

You can tell that the corn is young if by pressing one of its seeds, "corn milk" comes out.

And while young sweet corn is delicious on its own, you can also use it to make a delicious recipe:
