Today we had to make a hard decision. Our sweet little Zoey had a spinal injury and there was nothing we could do. These last few days she had that look in here eyes, asking for help, to get up, go for walks, eat her food and drink water.

She made her way to heaven surrounded by love and comfort.

Rest in peace Zoey and go for the long walks you always enjoyed.

So the new Google+ layout has been around for a while. I don't mind it but the one thing that bugs me:

In the previous version there would be a little notification on the home screen telling me how many new postings there were. You clicked it and, voila, the new posts would appear. Now I have to hit the refresh button in my browser, even clicking home doesn't refresh.

Well, I have thought about this for a long time, more intensely this last week, but I'm going for it.

I'm selling all the Nikon gear I have and make a switch to the Fuji gear.

What made me make this decision?
I have great Nikon gear, D800 body, lenses like the 70-200 f/2.8 and 17-55 f/2.8 DX to just to name a few, but I have hardly used my gear in a year. It's just not something you just carry around with you.
During spring break I borrowed the Nikkor 24-120 f/4 because I didn't want to bring all my other lenses.
The last vacation I brought all my gear only to have it sit in the hotel room for most of the time. I took the majority of my pictures on my lame iPhone 4. And guess what? I liked taking pictures on my iPhone.

But what about quality of your photos?
Well the Fuji has a 16.3MP APS-C sensor and that's far below the D800 36.3MP full frame. But the quality of my iPhone is far below what the Fuji can do, but I didn't really mind taking photos with my iPhone and the photos I posted on social media have gotten enough positive feedback from friends, family and strangers that they didn't really seem to mind either.

Okay, so what are you going to buy?
I'll buy the Fuji XT-1 with some lenses. I don't exactly know which lenses yet. Some of it depends on the what I'll get for my Nikon gear.

So that's it. I have read enough about the XT-1 and Fuji lenses to know I'll be fine with the system. Now all I have to do is sell my stuff before I buy the new gear.
