Variants  -

I have a Power Pack 1 that has a $1.25 price tag on it with a bar code and it seems like all the issues on the bay have a $1 price take with the spider man head or a $1 price tag with a bar code. Anybody know why this one has a $1.25 price tag and if there is any significance? Is it a Canadian variant?

Hey, I picked up an X force 1 polybagged with the cable card and I had never seen the cards in the front of the polybag until this one. Is there any significance to that? Normally I've always seen the trading cards in the back.

It is possible that at one point the polybag was carefully opened and then resealed. Someone could have taken the original card out and replaced it with a different card. Or it could have been moved to the front of the bag to be visible if the book was going to be bagged and boarded while being kept in the original polybag.

So this is definitely another story for the books after winning a case that was opened against me this week I didn't think it could get any better until today.

I had this guy receive a book damaged so I told him to open a case and I'd refund the money and he could keep the book. Then, I never received notification of a case being opened so I emailed him. Still no case. A week goes by and I get an email from ebay today that a case was opened & closed because I never responded.

I call ebay and it was determined that my notifications were turned off when a case is opened against me and that I got a negative check on my account for ebay having to step in and handle the case. I explain what happened and they escalate me to the dept that handles this.

Now here's where it gets interesting. She looks at the case for me and sees the communication that I told him to open the case, yada yada and then realizes that ebay make a mistake when closing the case by "not requiring the seller to return the book". She said I can open a counter case and that will remove the negative check and get me my money back.

I then tell her I told him to keep the book and that I don't want him to have to pay for it because in my mind I thought he would just leave negative feedback.

She then goes on to say, opening a counter claim is the only way to remove the check and that it's not between me and the buyer at this point, this is between ebay and me since ebay didn't follow protocol when closing the case & requiring the book to be returned. I then clue in and say, "so you found a technicality where ebay screwed up and you're going to give me my money back". She said yes. lol.

So the lesson is if you accidentally don't respond to a case and they close a case w/o requiring the book to be returned, you can open a counter case against ebay on that technicality and get your money back and get any negatives against your account remove.

So the book got damaged, the buyer got the book w/o paying, and I got paid by ebay, & got an undeserved negative removed from my account. Crazy right?

I don't like that your notifications just turned off like that. That could potentially ruin an entire year of work. Thanks for the reponses!

Wow. I just won my first case as a Seller! My wife was like that is the first case you won?...lol

Customer said they never received it.
Uploaded tracking which said differently.
Customer still refused receiving it.
Ebay decided in my favor.

Amaaazing.

what are other canadian sellers doing to prepare for the looming strike next july 2nd. Anything we mail out between now and then won't likely make it to their destination (inside canada) and if the strike lasts long enough buyers can request a refund. Should we just put our store on vacation mode for now until this sorts itself out? Should we drive to the states to mail our comics to us buyers? What restrictions do we see at the border if we're taking 10-20 packages to mail down at the states?

Just got this in my eBay inbox:

As you are likely aware, there is a possibility that Canada Post services will be impacted by a labour disruption as early as July 2, 2016. We encourage you to visit canadapost.ca/update to read about the latest developments and sign up for email updates.

In the event of a Canada Post labour disruption, eBay will remain open for business, and we’re asking you to do the same. There is no need to put your store on vacation hold, to end listings, or to zero out quantities on multi-quantity listings.

Should Canada Post service be disrupted, we recommend that sellers:

Continue to list and sell on eBay; and
Be considerate and accommodate buyers who may wish to cancel orders if they have not yet been shipped.
eBay will be monitoring, and where possible adjusting, estimated delivery dates and eBay Money Back Guarantee timelines to ensure that sellers are not penalized for shipping delays.

eBay will communicate with buyers who purchase Canadian items prior to, or during, a labour disruption to ensure they are aware of the likelihood of shipping delays.

The eBay Canada Team will post additional details on the Announcements Board as they become available.

Thank you,

eBay Canada

would this be more valuable with a double cover and if so how to value? I didn't even realize there was a previous series of haunted mansion from slg & disney. Ordered this online and I'm not sure if the seller realized as it wasn't advertised as 2 covers.

I think the market on double covers is starting to become more recognized. Keys will get a higher percentage. I just got a X-men 141 double cover the seller did not advertise also. He improperly packed it, and it got damaged. I was annoyed until I found out it was a double cover. All good at that point.

Silver and Bronze Age Speculation  -

Hoping someone can educate me on the difference between prices in some comics. For instance, I got a web of spiderman 12 and the price is .95 but all the copies on the bay are .75c cover price.  Does that make mine more rare?

The price variants you really want are the Marvel .30 test market and some of the Dell .15 covers.  I went out of my way to find a Four Color 878 .15 price variant, while others might not have looked twice at it.  Cool book you have either way.
