Another great example of perspective (and how fun graphs can be).

What an achievement already
In 1995, 189 countries committed to the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action – an agenda for women’s empowerment and blueprint for advancing women's rights around 12 critical areas of concern. Now, nearly 20 years later, the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) will conduct national and regional intergovernmental reviews to appraise the progress made on women's empowerment worldwide. http://ow.ly/Ad9Je #Beijing20

Important perspective
"As we think about the post-2015 development agenda and try to make sure that the much bandied notion of “women’s empowerment” (WE henceforth) gets its due attention, it may be time to stop and think further about what the term implies and includes. Broadly speaking WE is about gender equality in all walks of life, and in particular, about giving women the same rights of choice and control over the circumstances of their lives that men have."

How cool is this though
When UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon visited a school in Mozambique, grade 10 student Raquelina Fernando Langa asked if she as a girl could become Secretary-General and if so, what she needed to do to achieve that goal. Impressed, he invited Raquelina to come to UN Headquarters in NYC as his special guest for a day on International Youth Day. She also stopped our UN Women offices. The numbers are really unbelievable but so true
FACT: More than 700 million women alive today were married as children. 1 in 3 of these women – some 250 million – were married before age 15.

Now, please go back and read that again, slowly.

That's 250 million women in the world married before their 15th birthday.

Interesting sentiments and so true
How often do you check in on location based apps?

In fact, do you even use location based apps such as Foursquare/Swarm, Yelp, Google+, Facebook and more?

Are you concerned about privacy or your safety?

It's amazing to see some people still checking into their home address on location based apps such as Foursquare. Some developers have tried to educate by creating mashups of Foursquare and Google Maps showing the street view images of peoples' houses.

Most of us believe we should be able to control our privacy settings on social networks, but some people share so much publicly you have to wonder if they realise what they are doing!

What do you think? Interested in your thoughts.
