Nargis Fakhri will surprise everybody in 'Madras Cafe'

Nargis Fakhri, who made her acting debut with "Rockstar", will now be seen in Shoojit Sircar's "Madras Cafe". The filmmaker says she will surprise everyone in the role of a journalist.

"Nargis suited the role and I can assure you that she is going to surprise everybody with 'Madras Cafe'. She is playing a journalist in the film," Sircar told in an interview.

The film was earlier titled "Jaffna".

Nargis will be seen opposite John Abraham in the movie.

An unusual pairing indeed. No?

"I can't reveal the story, but it was the demand of the script. You will get to know once you see the film. I hope the audiences like this pairing," said Sircar, known for films like "Yahaan" and "Vicky Donor".

The first schedule of "Madras Cafe" is over. It has been shot extensively in south India. The second schedule will commence from March and will be shot in Mumbai, south India and abroad.

Sircar says the team has plans to rope in southern superstar Mohanlal for a particular role in "Madras Cafe".

"We are in talks with him. There is a very important role in the film for which we need Mohanlal. Now let us see how things fall in place. Nothing has been finalised right now," he added.

I don't know how to behave like a nice Indian woman : Nargis Fakhri

Rockstar girl Nargis Fakhri claims that the Heer Kaul played by her in the movie was just so her original self. The actor feels that she is energetic and animated.

In an interview with a leading daily, she said, "I don't know how to behave like a nice Indian woman. I don't know if it's a foreign thing or not but I am very animated as a person."

Well Nargis, hardly has instances to behave anyway. Ask her of her performance in Rockstar and she says, “Nobody told me that I need to be more subtle. I was just being natural. So if you know me and you see the movie, you'll say oh that's so Nargis."

"Before shooting the movie, I never sat down to observe any Indian women and their mannerisms. I just had two months of preparations, so I couldn't learn about a culture in two months," she added.

The actor, who does not have any project as of now, is too busy to take an off. Nargis abides by her school girl schedule which includes Kathak, Hindi learning and acting classes. "Kathak has made me more conscious about my posture and movements. But it is so tough, with all the spinning and those heavy ghunghroos. There is always something to do. Hindi classes, event shows, magazine launches. There is never an off day," she said.

In the mean time, she is excited to visit her mom after a complete six months. Go girl! You surely need some motivation from your mother.
