Here's another easy overnight breakfast cereal that is made with 3 simple ingredients, quinoa, oats and a pinch of salt. Top it with some peanut butter and fresh berries, and you have yourself one amazing breakfast!
This is a power filled breakfast! It's a blend of quinoa and steel-cut oats that can be made the night before in under 6 minutes.

Just try and keep your hands out of the cookie jar with these bad boys. These little cookie bites, even though they’re on the healthier side, are super addicting.  I shouldn’t really be calling them a cookie, as they are a take on the classic Cliff Kid’s ZBAR, so they’re more of an energy bar in cookie form. Maybe I should just call them cute little energy cookie bites! These cookie bites are vegan, gluten-free (if you use GF oats), have no refin...

Oh my gosh, this pesto is SO tasty, fresh and chunky that it’s seriously bowl licking and spoon licking good (yep, Zoe and I licked our bowls clean)! I’ve made this pesto up twice already and Zoe and I couldn’t keep our spoons out of the jar. We kept opening the jar taking a spoonful, closing... Read More »

So, I’m being a bit naughty and giving you all a sugary treat today! I’m posting a new cookie recipe that has been happily tested on at least 40 kids and adults, ranging in age from 6 to 44 (yes, you guessed it, I’m the 44-year-old)!  These cookies got the double thumbs up, and there were even... Read More »

It's foggy and cool this morning, so I just warmed myself up with a bowl of one of my favorite hot morning cereals. These quinoa flakes only take 5 minutes to cook up. They're perfect topped with some fresh berries and peanut butter! YUM!
Ok, here’s another quinoa cereal that I tell you is super simple to whip up, like 5 minute simple. I love my other quinoa and steel-cut oat cereal, but I have to plan ahead the night before in order to make it, and sometimes I just want to wake up and have some hot cereal,... Read More »

If you love my overnight steel cut oats, then you'll love this method as well. Toasting the oats adds a new depth of flavor and richness, as well as a chewier and nuttier taste and texture. Give it a try!
Everyone has a favorite meal of the day and mine is breakfast! Breakfast just rocks! Give me some coffee and some carbs and I’m a happy camper! I’m a ravenous girl in the morning, and when I wake up I need a hot cup of coffee (pronto) and some carbs!  I’ve been a breakfast carb and cereal addict since... Read More »

Ok, we’re always looking (well, at least I am) for a tasty, easy weeknight, 30-minute, one-pot, one-bowl meatless pasta, right (wow, that was mouthful)?  Well, good news because I’ve got one for you! I wasn’t sure if this pasta even qualified as a post since I do have some similar pesto-type pasta’s on the blog,... Read More »

What?? Another granola recipe Marin mama? Yep, I’m posting another granola recipe peeps, because I’m an oat crazed gal who loves something sweet and crunchy to nosh on in the afternoon, and this granola bark fits the bill! It’s crunchy, sweet, (but not too sweet) full of goodness and very addicting! I made this bark... Read More »

This granola is not what I would classify as a healthy breakfast alternative. I would say that it falls into the sugar cereal family rather than the Ezekiel cereal family, but that’s ok. My philosophy when it comes to food is that it’s all about balance, and some days we want something healthy for breakfast,... Read More »

I'm back with my weekly dinner menu!  Yay!  Come check out what I'm cooking up this week....
First off, I LOVE this picture of Zoe. I took it this past fall when we were in the city for one of Eli’s soccer games. We had some down time before the game, so we decided to do a photo shoot (which was SO much fun).  Zoe is a total natural in front of... Read More »
