The owners are the BEST and the food and pastries are delightful. It's a great atmosphere to sit quietly and work or to meet friends. Homemade pastries are delicious!!!! You must taste them for yourself! And David makes the BEST hot chocolate!! It's the kind of place you look for.

First, I must say that the decor is fabulous. I love the patio in warm weather and the seating area is very comfortable. Last time I went I was disappointed to get my latté in a disposable cup reminiscent of that which you get at McDonalds. Oh, and it had ZERO foam, like, I took off the lid and voila! no foam. Most of the time, though, their coffee is good, so this was probably a fluke. On the customer service front, the baristas generally are nice but not terribly engaging or friendly. And whatever process they use to handle business isn't working well, because they seem to get overwhelmed when more than 1 person is waiting in line to order. The bottom line is that, with a $5 minimum on purchases with a card, I'd go there for the decor and only if I happened to be carrying cash for some reason.

First time visitor and surprised on the variety of homemade pastries and sandwiches available, along with endless coffee choices......Passing thru from the eastside and stumbled across..was only gonna have a coffee and recharge but after reading menu and smelling the wonderful aroma decided to try lunch here also....Great squash soup and could barely finish half of the turkey sandwich...(guess what hubby gets for dinner tonight)...!! Pricing very reasonable considering all food and pastries are homemade with no preservatives (having asked barista) and cooked to order...... Area and restroom clean, service was good and friendly...Quaint cozy place that neighborhood should be pleased to have...I saw a Starbucks down the street but so glad I choose to stop here to try...also do breakfasts.....wish I drove by here more often but will remember to stop when Im in the area.....recommended!!!

This is not a very good cafe. It looks like it could be, it just isn't. I went in once and ordered a chicken salad sandwich on whole grain bread. I started eating it and realized that the sandwich was Madison grilled sour dough. I took it to the counter and said, "this was supposed to be on whole grain bread,"and the clerk (not a barista) said, "oh, we ran out of the whole grain bread." Why not tell me this when I placed my order? Who's with me? Went there a couple weeks ago for coffee and a muffin or bagel. The pastries looked good (no muffins), and they were pretty expensive. I ended up buying a brownie that was recommended by the clerk and it was not very good. The pastries look once, but they really aren't that good. I hate to say it, but I wouldn't be upset if this local establishment went out of business. My cup drip coffee was very good. Oh! They have a five dollar minimum on credit cards, so take cash or end up buying something you probably don't want.
