Many New Yorkers have sedentary jobs that require them to sit for over 8 hours. That is a majority of our waking hours spent seated. With the aid of technology we do not have to as much manual labor as we used to. While life is much more convenient with technology, it has it's downfalls. Sitting for extended periods everyday can have potentially deadly effects. It can very easily negatively affect your health, including poor posture, chronic back pain, and even contribute to obesity, heart disease and diabetes.
