Is there any distinction between joining a program and being included in a program involuntarily?

I found this a pretty insightful take on the Adria Richards/gender in software discussion that's hitting the interwebz today... I don't know Amanda Blum, but I get the impression she'd be super cool to know!

Sadly, this isn't real, but if you're down with it +Google Maps, I noticed that the public transit directions for this search don't return anything: "Sorry, we don't have transit schedule data...."

That'd be a sweet place for an #easteregg ! #freshprinceofbelair
Oh, +Google Maps, you so silly.

If you don't get this reference, you're probably too young.  #nostalgia #90s

Seriously Google, calling your first product post-Reader shutdown "Google Keep" feels pretty insulting.

"No, really. This time you can really keep it. If we had meant for you to keep Google Reader, we would've named it Google Keep. Duh!"

<Shrek 4 annoying voice kid>I don't like it.</endnote>

Can't hurt to ask, I guess...
Probably a very long shot to save Google Reader, but doesn't hurt to try.

Always proud to be a Boilermaker, but especially so these days. :-)
Check out the ad that ran in the New Orleans Times-Picayune over the weekend featuring Drew Brees. It reads: It all started here. On the grass turf gridiron of Ross-Ade. Where legends are etched in the annals of time. And heroes make records. While breaking others. Congratulations Drew Brees for setting the NFL All-Time Single Season Passing Yards Record. Because pushing beyond boundaries to achieve new heights is what it means to be a Boilermaker.
