I just posted this blog on our web site: How can Shiatsu help with arthritis? It can help relieve the pain of arthritis by helping to preserve joint and muscle function. It helps balance the fluid content of joint capsules and increases circulation to the joints. It also relaxes and strengthens the surrounding muscles without placing strain on the joint. Using specific anti-inflammatory points, Shiatsu can relieve pain in all parts of the body, not just the area being massaged. Regular Shiatsu treatments can improve circulation, relieve arthritic pain, and help the client feel better and have the energy to continue an exercise program.

Since it's running season again I thought I'd post this testimonial I received from one of my clients who's a long-distance runner: "I''m an avid trail runner, running outdoors year round on all terrain at every opportunity.  I'm not fast, not young, but passionate and joyful in my running practice.  I enter a few races each year for the fun, challenge and camraderie.   I've found a Shiatsu session with Karen is not only wonderful and highly effective for post-race recovery, but discovered 5 years ago that Shiatsu BEFORE a race or long-distance training run is fantastic pre-race preparation.

Cool article about Acupucnture points. We use these pressure points in a shiatsu session, but we use our thumbs instead of needles!
