Dr. Heidi Ewen was featured in this week's Columns, for her commitment to interdisciplinary research and teaching in gerontology at UGA.

"I cannot imagine a better fit for my research and teaching," she said. "It's the perfect blending for imparting knowledge and skills to our students so they may address the needs of an aging population."

“A big problem is that physicians don’t know the cost of what they’re prescribing,” said Dr. Mark Ebell, professor of epidemiology and director of the Faculty of Medical Sciences at the UGA College of Public Health.

It is that time of the year again: the The Environmental Health Science Club at UGA pecan sale!

The Environmental Health Science Club is selling fresh, Georgia grown, Schermer pecans again this fall season. Ordering Schermer pecans from the EHS Club helps fund their club activities including tree plantings and their end of the year banquet. The last day to order to ensure pick up by the end of the semester is Friday, November 18th!

"I think people have the idea that tests are more accurate than they actually are in general," Ebell said. "Sometimes what we learn through studies like ours is that tests we've always thought about using or thought were accurate turn out to not be so helpful and we need different or better tests to guide us." - Dr. Mark Ebell
