This is a new feature I just found by accident on Google Plus. The photo album/viewer app just created this .gif from a set of similar pics taken on Arbor Day 2013.  Pictured here are Sherwood Forest volunteers and board members celebrating a bold new planting venture at the Cardinal Road entrance by the pro shop. Happy Day!

Grammy's is NOW OPEN!  Stay tuned for more discussions with Grammy's Restaurant owner Roberta Hallinen.  For now, just be aware that fresh-cooked breakfast and lunch are once more available on the Greenville Highway in Cedar Mountain.  Closes at 2pm daily, so get there quick and place your order.  Friendly atmosphere, home-cooked food, you're sure to rub shoulders with friends, old and new.

This local produce mart has just announced they will operate year-round, since they re-opened for the season on April 2nd.  Outstanding fruits, veggies, meats and cheeses from across the Carolinas, minutes from Brevard in Cedar Mountain.  The Rhodes family has operated the market for going on 10 years, and they've come a long way since opening each season on Memorial Day, thanks to a new wave of full-time living in Transylvania County.

Stop by the Whistlestop Market on the way to Dupont State Forest!  Open 9am - 6pm daily, closed Mondays.

America's "Best Kept Secret" no more...  "Not only does BIKE magazine praise Transylvania County for its bike-friendly attitude, but County Planning and Economic Development here in Brevard also encourages bike related businesses to consider the benefits of this area.  It’s no wonder Transylvania County is considered the Cycling Capital of the South!"

This event has energized our community in Brevard/Transylvania County, "Cycling Capital of the South!"  I bet more events start calling us "home" soon...

You can't visit without falling in love.  That's the Land of Waterfalls.

Here's a Carolina Mountains waterfall shot by my wife.

Located off Hwy 215 near Balsam Grove, North Carolina -- high in the mountains of Transylvania County, "the Land of Waterfalls." ... photography by Pat Roberts using a Sony HC1.
