"Chocolat Poulain" by Oge ca. 1904

A beautiful poster, realized by Oge in 1907, to advertise the famous chocolate brand "Chocolat Poulain". The girl depicted here is taking away the chocolate box and dropping the baby's bowl of cocoa on the floor. The cat seems quite enthusiastic about it! This poster is featured in the book "Eugène Ogé Affichiste" (1998) on p. 132. Eugène Ogé (1861-1936) was a French poster artist with a unique and playful style. In 1902. he produced one of the best-known anticlerical images of its period La Lanterne. He also made a large number of commercial posters for products.

A stunning poster realized by Ploz at the behest of PLM (the Paris-Lyon-Méditerranée railway consortium) for the town of Vichy, one of France’s most fashionable spas at the turn of the century. PLM is advertising tickets at reduced rates to drum up business although the two ladies in the foreground can obviously do without this kind of incentive!
