I received a +Secret Santa​ gift a few days ago and promptly put it under the tree, unopened.

SO excited! I got some absolutely gorgeous boot toppers!

(Yes, kids, I'm a knitter and I could make my own... But I haven't and ooh! Purdy!)

"Whipped up" a rustic garland to decorate Mom's room in care facility. Going to take a turkey sammich, made just the way she likes it, and visit this afternoon.

Aaand another "cooking" question: I want to make Forgotten Cookies, and I want to use a piping bag and star tip to make em purdy (and I don't want them to look like white poop emojis).

I have the tip, but don't know what kind of bag to use. Some of those disposable ones? A large ziploc bag? 8 oz? 24 oz?

This is uncharted territory here, folks. Any suggestions? 

I cooked our Thanksgiving Dinner yesterday. *

The turkey was wonderful, as usual, and everything else turned out as it should.

I even got all fancy and did braided crust on my pumpkin pies... and as I was pulling them out of the oven I realized I'd forgotten one very important thing: I didn't add the sugar. Oh, well. Good thing today is trash pickup day.

:sigh: I had enough pie crust to do a single, un-fancy, pie but it hadn't cooled enough to eat before we went to bed.

Related questions - what give pie crust its flavour? Mine is pretty bland. I wouldn't want to eat just the braided part from the fancy pie. Well, let me rephrase that - I did eat a bit and it was BLAH. Is it supposed to have some sort of flavour... or better flavour than "just" flour?

* 1) We're just in it for the leftovers. 2) I work retail. The day before and after Thanksgiving. Cooking all day on my day off between Insane Wednesday and Black Friday is not my idea of a good time. ;-)

I've never been interested in Audible, even though I (almost) exclusively read audio books. No need to pay a monthly fee when I have access to thousands of books via my many library memberships.

But. I do have Prime, and I do have two Echo(s). This might be worth dipping my toe into the lake.

The only downsides I see are a limited selection (do the 50 audio books change each month?) and the whole streaming thing. I usually download my books directly to a player so that I can listen while driving or working or shopping as well as at home. I'd prefer not to be tied to a stream when I'm doing that.
