+Jane Doe I wonder how to check their status? One thing I do know is that there were rumors about them boycotting the funerals at Newtown, and this is why this whole issue came up - I think it's to counteract their hate in public places like that.

Introduction
I am a firm believe that world governments do not have the resources to solve a majority of world problems  and am committed (with a network of others, especially in the IT field) to finding solutions to problems such as global poverty.

As a single Mom of three children, I received no child support and had to raise my children in a ghetto-environment. Yet, as I look back, it was poverty that helped me develop many skills, such as learning how to overcome all obstacles to particular goals, and I'd like to share one incident with you.

My daughter, in 7th grade at the time, was an Honor Student, and needed $2.00 for a class trip. We had no money, and I didn't want her to have to miss out on a class trip because we couldn't come up with $2.00. So all the kids in the neighborhood helped gather up pop bottles, which were worth 5 cents at the time, and she made it to the class trip.

As a family, at times we lived without electricity and gas. As difficult as that sounds, it is nothing compared to many innocents who go daily without food, or shelter.

In NYC alone, there are over 25,000 homeless teenagers, often victims of abuse.

One story I read that particularly touched me was about a woman in Africa, where there was drought. She had given birth to twin boys, but only had enough milk for one to live. So she was forced to choose between the two, and chose the healthier one, who had the best chance of living.

Just think if EVERYONE in the world committed even one hour a day to solving world problems! Sometimes, people asks why God lets people suffer. I wonder why WE let people suffer.....
