I was a big fan of Tata vehicles for a very long time and testimony for the same is my ownership of Tata vehicles (MH02NA5476 Tata Indica and HR26BG6523 Tata Safari) . I would like to share my product / service experience with Tata Motors and request that such false promises to customer is unwanted for a reputed brand like TATA known for their ethics.
I had the exhaustive servicing done for Safari (HR26BG6523) on last 2 weeks on Saturdays and Sundays, the vehicle was delivered to me after a cumulative billing of apx Rs 1,00,000 on 15th Feb. As I trusted the ruggedness and safety of TATA Safari , hence took it to visit Kausani and Ranikhet from Gurgaon to return back on 22nd Feb. On 23rd , the steering gearbox of TATA safari snapped at the 2nd basement of my Gurgaon office location. I am amazed that a TATA vehicle which is promoted as an off-road SUV can have such serious life threatening product quality issues after 73,000 km of running and zero accident history. I would request you to check with your engineering dept to understand the seriousness of this issue. Only god saved me and my family from this seriously defective product of TATA motors.
To top it all, I did have a 24*7 service support from TATA. I was even more amazed when I was informed by service call centre team member that I have to push the vehicle from 2nd basement to ground floor , so that they can provide me towing assistance. Such a sham that TATA motors is selling 24*7 towing operation as a 24*7 service support. I got the support from Dhingra Motors after calling them to help and they did change the steering axle by billing me for Rs. 40,000 apx.
I do hope that TATA motors senior management will ponder on the following
1. How can they sell product where critical component like Steering axle can fail just after 73,000 km of running ?
2. How can a vehicle gets exhaustive servicing and do not notice such a critical failure ?
3. Why a reputed company like TATA sells service products of 24*7 towing service as 24*7 service support?
