I haven't used Glass in a long time, but I did today, and took a bunch of video. Just tried to upload that video from Glass. Glass says it has been uploaded. But, I don't see it in Google Photos. Anyone know what the expectation should be? Where should I be seeing the uploads?

I am honored to be on the judging panel for +Numenta's upcoming HTM Challenge. I am very much looking forward to meeting more members of the HTM community, and seeing what people have dreamed up. If you don't know what I am talking about, check out the DevPost page here: http://htmchallenge.devpost.com/ There are cash prizes, and there will be gobs of t-shirts (designed by yours truly) too!

Note that there are two events - one will be a community-organized event on Friday, November 13th. More information here: http://www.meetup.com/numenta/events/224711563/

The second is where the judging and awards take place - on Saturday, November 14th. More info here: http://www.meetup.com/numenta/events/224711586/

If you want to make an entry, be sure to sign up at the DevPost page: http://htmchallenge.devpost.com/

+NuPIC Open Source  is sponsoring the HTM Challenge. If you are interested in machine intelligence, this may be of interest to you. HTM is an acronym for Hierarchical Temporal Memory - a theoretical framework for modeling the way our neocortex gives rise to intelligence.

Submissions can be made over at +Devpost. Cash prizes for the winners! Submissions can be made up until November 6th. Check it out here: http://htmchallenge.devpost.com/

After pointing Google Photos to my photo library and letting it upload all night long... Infinity notifications?! Ain't nobody got time for that!

(and it's still uploading - only 23,835 left!)

But seriously - thanks Google - it looks like an awesome service. +Google Photos

The NuPIC Spring Hackathon is coming up, on May 30th. This time it will be in New York City, at Cornell Tech!

Unfortunately, I can't go, but I highly recommend it if you can make it. And if you do, you will get this sweet t-shirt that I designed!

Here are the event details on Meetup.com: http://www.meetup.com/numenta/events/220422020/

I gave a brief talk last week at the NuPIC Meetup (March 25th, at Carnegie Mellon Silicon Valley). The talk was titled, "Hierarchical Temporal Memory and Sparse Distributed Representations for Newbies". My time slot was 20 minutes, so it was a challenge to give only the highest highlights of these concepts.

I would like to work on this talk more, and give it more polish, as I am interested in helping people new to these concepts understand them more quickly, as well as spreading the word about the work that Numenta is doing. The learning curve can be steep.

Thanks to +Matthew Taylor for recording the session (as well as his very cool demos which followed my talk), +Chandan Maruthi for organizing the meetup and his demo of his application, Walnut, +Subutai Ahmad for presenting his paper and demo of Numenta's current work on the Sensorimotor Model, and Numenta for sponsoring the event. Also, thanks to everyone who showed up - it was a great turn out for our first community-initiated NuPIC meetup. We have ambitions for there to be many more!

If you are interested in future NuPIC meetups, be sure to join Numenta's meetup group here: http://www.meetup.com/numenta/
