Take the time to read this if you know Phoenix. Zoom in. Look at the map. Very cool!

1914 ad for Pabst Blue Ribbon beer from the Arizona Mercantile Company, Center (Central) and Adams, Phoenix, Arizona. Later that year alcohol would become illegal in Arizona, six years before the rest of the country, and would remain that way until National Prohibition in 1933.

Heavyweight boxer Jack Dempsey in front of the Hudson and Essex dealership at the A.E. England Building in 1930, 424 N. Central, Phoenix, Arizona. The building is still there, beautifully preserved, and is where the Artlink Gallery is nowadays at the Civic Space Park, Central and Polk, west side of Central. Note the Apache Hotel in the reflection. That's a 1929 Hudson Sports Phaeton, by the way.

Montezuma's face, in the Estrella Mountains, Gila River Indian Community. Since the 16th Century, it has been believed by the Pima people that Montezuma will awaken from his long sleep some day, will gather all the brave and the faithful around him, raise and uplift his downtrodden people, and restore to his kingdom the old power and the old glory, as it was before the Hidalgos (Spain) invaded it.

A beautiful poem by a good friend of mine. +Sharon Seery
Enjoy!

Tiana

In the eyes of a child
I saw a sadness like no other,
Yet a soul with so much strength.

Strong willed, independent and determined.
In that was a certain beauty she possessed.
A beauty I hope reflects when she looks into the mirror each morning.
A beauty i hope she never forgets.

I was blessed...
(I thought this to myself)
As she layed her head in my lap. Each time she'd cry to me,
With each hug she gave.

At one time I thought I was saving her.
In hindsight she was saving me.

In the eyes of a child...

In this heart of mine
I'm not sure how you Thank someone for that.

There seems no way.
So all i can say is
" I love you all the way around the world and back again."
With that a hope that she'll always remember...
