Was just looking at Sencha website, thinking about using different frameworks for building apps, when I saw on the main page a picture of an android phone with what is clearly an iOS style interface.

Is it just me that finds this infuriating?

The LinkedIn app on my android phone does the same, irritates me! If I want a menu, I'll have it appear when I press the "menu" button, not sit at the top of my screen, because my phone only has one button I can press.

Please stop making android apps that look exactly the same as iOS ones, it is a different platform and has different user interface expectations.

I have to admit that my comment above doesn’t mean that I dont agree with you. I agree with the sentiment expecially  frameworks that ignore the the back button on Android.

An excellent discussion/talk on what REST is and what it means with some SAP based real examples.

From the Mastering SAP Technology conference.

I can't highly recommend this talk enough. I'm making all my tech team sit down and watch it.

the slide show available on slideshare too :

Thanks Sascha - great stuff!

Had a little fun trying to make a machine that spelt "wombling" - n's are a bit hard it appears - nevertheless this is a great time waster... so I'd better stop playing and get back to work stuff.. :-)

This is great news for making Google+ that little bit more usable!
like this feature.
Google+ users with a profile attached to a regular Gmail account and a work-related Google apps account can now blend the two together.

My sister who has been known to friends and family for the last 4 years or so as Lia Love has just been challenged by Google's real name policy - she can't sign up - and look at the photos I'm sharing with her.

Yet I go to the "Explore" option and I see a post by Albert Einstein. With the man's image etc. Given the man is dead, one rather thinks whoever is posting is not using a real name.

This is a bit bloody stupid Google! Sort it out!

Digging through some old photos and found these - the photo metadata says they come from the future, but I'm relatively confident that it's more like 7 years ago... Still pretty looking though!

Small world! :-)

yep that's the place! The rangers cut through a 4wd track to it a few years back when they were removing willow from the riverbanks. The picture shows a ford where ramps to the water have been made on both sides of the river. The rangers also killed off most of the brambles and thistles too which has left the area perfect for camping with the kids. - However, the track pretty overgrown now (small trees etc) - don't think any vehicles have been down there in at least a year.
