Winter's Over! Please Chip In - Thanks & Here's Why

What does your donation to Artist Organized Art signify this Spring? It says you support an art world that empowers Artists. This Spring make an historical impact. Support artist organized media, events and cultural education by supporting our mission. Artist Organized Art offers alternatives to the ways in which Artists consider first moves, strategies of engagement, terms of collaboration, goals of transformation and many other critical decisions often obscure to artists and the institutions they support. Your donation also supports yearly technology costs, our small yet effective staff and volunteers and the intellectual and physical work of our committees and associates. It's been a long Winter, but we have a lot planned this Spring. Please chip in any amount to support our position about how Artists work with the world around them. Donate Here: http://paypal.artistorganizedart.org/

Gema Álava: Thursday, March 13, 6-8pm Chelsea

Alava’s interactive installation Tell Me 2004-2014, made out of thousands of handwritten pieces of paper pinned to the wall and sensitive to the slightest air current, contains thousands of fragmented conversations maintained for the last decade between Álava and the public in the privacy of NYC art museums, where Álava has worked for twelve years as a lecturer/museum educator, leading more than two thousand gallery talks, and inviting friends to think of different ways to interact inside these communal spaces. ..more

☀ Happy New Year! Please Chip In Below, Here's Why:

How important and helpful is your donation to Artist Organized Art this challenging year, 2013? Besides supporting our yearly technology costs, our small, but amazingly effective, staff and volunteers and the intellectual and physical work of our committees and associates, you support a position about how Artists work with the world around them. Artist Organized Art offers alternatives to the ways in which Artists consider their first moves, preconceptions about engagement, terms of collaboration, goals of transformation and many other critical decisions often obscure to artists and the institutions they support. The art world has always benefited from empowered Artists and your support of artist organized media, events and cultural education, through our mission, is having an historical impact every year. While you are being generous with so many organizations, we hope you'll include a donation to AOA. Any amount helps (and is tax deductible, of course).

New York City: QUIJOTE TALKS w/ Francis Cape. Oct 24, SVA, 132 W. 21 St. -- Great talk, meet and greet. Learn about the Open House Nov 9.

Francis Cape
“What Can We Do About It?”

“Art’s ability to critique society may do no more than make us feel sanctimonious. If it is to successfully espouse values obscured by the hegemony of capitalism and its monoculture, it must embody, not merely address, those values. I mean to talk about these thoughts with reference to a recent project on communalism in America.”
