Delicious! Guacamole was freshly made to order and the drinks ( a bit pricy) but we're double in alcohol!

The staff was nice and somewhat easy to work with. I believe that each person should be designated a specific role. We had a busy boy busting tables then showing up and making guacamole on our table. I was kinda grossed out because who knows if he had washed his hands. I ordered the pork belly nachos which was amazing and the presentation was cool.

Ive been to this place few times now and they have good service, very nice ambiance. Very good margaritas but their food is overpriced for what you are getting even with promotions going on.

service is very very poor and slow. seemed they were untrained. food was close to average. chef is not very good and ther are many other Mexican joints that are much better in value and quality.

I recently went to Rosa to celebrate my birthday with friends and family on 11.5.14. Along with me was my 11 year old son. I was not aware that happy hour prices are only valid in the bar area. That was fine; however, while waiting for a booth/table to open up, the hostess (this night she was wearing a striped sweater. None of the employees wore name tags) told us that we could sit at the actual bar. With a child? No, thank you. We will wait. When a booth opened, I asked if it could be cleaned off for us to sit. The hostess told us "yes", but never got anyone to clean it. After about 10 minutes, I asked if she could get someone to do it. At this time, she reluctantly walked over and started to clean it and eventually got some help. When she came back, we thought we would be sat. Goodness, were we ever wrong! Of course, this was after waiting around for about 20 minutes, still trying to catch the Happy Hour prices before they ended at 7:00. I asked if she would seat us. She said "sure". A white couple came in at that moment and she grabbed a couple of menus and seated them. We were completely ignored by her at this point. Another employee was at the host stand and we asked her to seat us, but she was also confused as to why the young lady in the striped sweater did not seat us. During this wait, we almost lost our table to a couple of guys who had walked in, but thankfully they caught eye contact with me and I told them "no, that is our table." After we were finally sat, our server, Chris, came over and grabbed everyone water. Mind you, the water was warm, no ice at all. Later my niece joined us and he brought her a fresh glass of water full of ice. We let this 2nd strike go. Some people may say this is small, but we did not think so. Everyone else in the bar was served ice water. When we did receive our food, it did not all come out at once, even though we ordered at once. This was a small party of 7, including a child. We were not loud, rowdy, or anything. After our food was initially brought out, three people received their food 10 minutes later. Chris, our server, checked in on us a total of twice during our meal and seemed annoyed when we asked for straws and a couple extra rolls of silverware. Since this was a birthday celebration, many of my guests ordered drinks. Chris never checked anyone's ID, allowing an 18 year old to not only order a drink, but to be served one! When he asked if we were celebrating a birthday, he offered birthday shots, again, serving shots to an 18 year old, not even asking for anyone's ID. Our bill was well over $100 for our table, I'm sure, but I am also sure we barely tipped him due to the poor service. He had a chance to make up for the lack of service/acknowledgement by the host and failed to do so. For this to be our first time at Rosa after hearing so much about it, it was quite a disappointment. Between Chris and the hostess, our entire appetite was thrown off. We all know that the attitude of the staff plays a part in how the guests enjoy their meal and experience, but they made us feel as though we were not welcome at Rosa. Our money was/is as good as anyone else's, but this was horrible, especially for my birthday. The major issue (aside from how the hostess treated us) was the fact an 18 year old was freely being served alcoholic beverages!

Overpriced food and poor service. Not sure why but our table received far less attention than the tables around us both from the waiter and manager. If you are looking for a good value go elsewhere.

Overall, this place wasn't a flat-out disappointment but for the price, I would expect more impressive, quality dishes rather than recycled mediocre Mexican staples. There is nothing bad per se, but there was also nothing that was especially good, which was my expectation for a dinner that cost $120 for guacamole, two entrees, a couple sides, and dessert. The guacamole was solid, but for 14 dollars I expected heady local ingredients or something to really distinguish it from every other decent Mexican restaurant on the planet. The steak was overcooked and pretty rubbery. The chicken enchiladas were solid, but drenched in so much sauce it was like eating a soup. The chicken itself was moist and delicious. I didn't really mind our server's slowness since I was on a date. The ambiance is cool, with an impressive focus on moving water and mood lighting, but the lights above the table were really bright, killing the vibe once seated. Dessert was solid. In the end, Masa and Chino Latino are both superior Minneapolis establishments for Mexican food.
