what i think MOOCs like #etmooc  offer to the otherwise often dire conversation about higher ed these days: they take us from Borg narratives (resistance is futile) to cyborg narratives (subversion, possibility).

i've been two-timing #etmooc  with #edcmooc (ELearning & Digital Cultures, from Coursera) and since it only had a single assignment, i've actually managed to, erm, complete a MOOC! first time ever!

it's on Donna Haraway's cyborg figure, which has guided me since i started teaching online back in 1998. do you know the cyborg? you should. :)

for the first time ever, i completed ALL the assignments in a MOOC! (okay, this one only had one assignment.) i present: Haraway's cyborg as a way to resist the Borg mentality around online teaching.
