The Bitches say: C-. The food isn’t gourmet, or that high of quality. In fact, its just average. But, if you’re going to a sports bar with that in mind, you’ll find respectable food at affordable prices with plenty of tvs to watch the game. Food snobs should stay clear, however. One of the worst IPAs I have had. Food was about what I expected. I am not sure why east coast breweries are unable to make a proper IPA, but this one tasted like hot wet garbage.

There is nothing I experienced on a recent visit to recommend this place. The ambience is impersonal, noisy, and uninviting. The service is adequate, but just barely. The beers are pedestrian and uninspiring. The brewers seem to be allergic to hops yet they have a beer called Hop Smoke that is neither hoppy nor smoky--not even a hint of either. Go figure. The food is, without a doubt, some the worst pub fare I have ever tasted. The crab cakes were under cooked and way less than fresh caught/preserved if smell and taste are a reliable measurement. The fries were an obviously pre-frozen version of deep fried underachievement. The coleslaw was insipid and mushy. Positively unacceptable. Although really hungry and thirsty from all-day travel from the west coast, I couldn't wait to finish my beer, unfinish my meal, and exit the place.

This place has a nice atmosphere...but was a bit cramped(Friday night). I have to say that their burgers are worth a try and their fries are amazing. The onion rings could have been cooked a bit more to get a good crunchy texture but they weren't bad. They were served with ranch and a horseradish mustard that wasn't too sinus stinging. The beers they brew weren't bad but definitely didn't WOW me. I have to say that their porter was their best brewed beer and that the cherry wheat they had on tap was good. Would come here again after I have exhausted all the breweries in DC first.

Friends and I here visited for an early lunch at 11am and by 12, when we left, it was packed. We ordered the sampler which came with egg rolls, wings and onion rings. The best item? The eggrolls. I was also surprised that they serve pretzel baskets with a killer horseradish sauce, for free! With my eyes bigger than my stomach, I was only able to finish half of my pulled pork sandwich and fries, but it was really good. The service is friendly and the food is pretty average. The beer is the standout. Be sure to try the beers listed on the wall, not just the four listed inside the menu. I had the kolsh which wasn't too hoppy and not too light.

I came here with friends after going to Jazz in the Garden. I was surprised by how good their own beers were. The atmosphere is too corporate for me, though. I like that they give you free pretzels to start. Service is okay. It was hard to get our waiter's attention sometimes.
