Spacious brewpub with signature beers like Capital Kolsch, plus a varied menu of pub grub.- Google
"Great beer and free soft pretzels with mustard-horseradish dip."
"Capitol City Brewing Company is an overall good experience."

New to visiting DC and looking for some good food and good beer. This is the place!! Tidy and clean. Staff were amazing and frequented the table to chat with us and check on how we were going. Food was really good!! Beer was even better!!!! Went back the next day and had the same great experience.

I am an avid beer drinker and like a variety of types of beer, usually liking most micro brews I try. We tried the Pale Rider, and struggled through it. Then we tried samplers of the rye IPA and the Red, White and Blue and moved on. We finally resorted to a flight to try a variety and find something we liked, but no avail. The food was decent but nothing special - the chicken was good, crab cakes were meh.

The Bitches say: C-. The food isn’t gourmet, or that high of quality. In fact, its just average. But, if you’re going to a sports bar with that in mind, you’ll find respectable food at affordable prices with plenty of tvs to watch the game. Food snobs should stay clear, however. Great service, good food, just wish they had more beer selections. Some of the ales are quite good, but I'd like to see some boldy flavored brews. Restaurant itself is well decorated, clean, and excellent staff.

I recommend against this place. I'll open by saying that after I paid and was finishing my beer a mouse ran under the pedestal of my table. The waiter's reaction makes me think this was not the first time that's happened. I wasn't planning on coming back, but that clinched it. I had the club sandwich, which was fine. The mild ale and porter were both middle-of-the road and the porter seemed forced carbonated -- not a desirable trait in porters for non-beer-snobs that are reading. The service was sub-par and a little slow even though it wasn't busy - I did get complimentary pretzels with horseradish sauce before my meal came though. Again I won't be going back and I'm sure you'll find something better in DC.

Friends and I here visited for an early lunch at 11am and by 12, when we left, it was packed. We ordered the sampler which came with egg rolls, wings and onion rings. The best item? The eggrolls. I was also surprised that they serve pretzel baskets with a killer horseradish sauce, for free! With my eyes bigger than my stomach, I was only able to finish half of my pulled pork sandwich and fries, but it was really good. The service is friendly and the food is pretty average. The beer is the standout. Be sure to try the beers listed on the wall, not just the four listed inside the menu. I had the kolsh which wasn't too hoppy and not too light.
