This is a very popular chapel. With a parking lot and benches outside because people can't fit in the small building.
It was built in 1500 on the other side of the road but had to be rebuilt in 1777 in its current location.
I can't understand why this would be refused as "not meeting the criteria". It has an obviously unique architecture and is a historical building in a unique location. And it really one of most beautiful churches I've submitted as portals...

This is what I call a #portalgem . This WW1 graveyard buried 254 German soldiers and 263 French soldiers together, united in death.

It is located on a small road in the south of Belgium (not far from the French border) with a 90km/h (56mph) speed limit so I would never have found it without Ingress.

For those who are not familiar with WW1 in Belgium, Germany avoided the French defence on their common border by attacking Belgium and then turning to France. Lots and lots of French soldiers died along with the Belgians trying to defend our country.

May this portal become a kind of neutral ground for factions to talk to each other with respect.

One of best laughs I've had in a long time. Matthew Inman is a genius and the ASL interpreter adds to the fun.

Title: Wavre Ste Anne Des Champs
Location: 50.719714, 4.601574

"Thank you for your Portal submission. However, this Portal candidate does not meet the criteria required for approval."

[edit] It is important to note that this is a chapel with a statue of Saint Anne (zoom on the first picture), not a mailbox or anything. It is also on the side of the road, not sure whether it's on a private property but you could throw an Ultra-strike on it from the road.

The name "Ste Anne des Champs" is barely readable on the small plaque on the picture. This is typically the landmark that I never noticed before I started playing Ingress.

Also worth mentioning that this money didn't disappear. It financed very advanced research and created a lot of economic activity. So we didn't each pay 20 cents per year for nothing, we paid our best engineers to create very advanced technology that will be used for other things than landing on a comet.
