The time has come for everyone to get into the Holiday spirit. Stockings are hung. Trees are trimmed. And the air has taken a frosty chill bringing you inside to stay warm with family. But this season is also about giving and bringing happiness to others.
Here in Humboldt, TN there is a place called Tennessee Veterans State Home. It is a Nursing Home for Veterans. There are 130 residents in this facility that stood proud and strong to fight for us to be able to freely enjoy this season of Holiday cheer. What better way than to say thank you by giving some of that Holiday Cheer and warmth of someone caring than by helping raise money to give each and every individual resident their own small gift.
These residents are not hard to please. They enjoy the simple things. Things such as Chocolate, Tube Socks, Soft Puff Mint Candy, Word Search Puzzles, and bingo.
We are trying to raise the funds to give each resident a gift bag including the above things along with a Christmas Card made out to them and a small personal gift.
We are in direct contact with some of the administration so we can be sure each gift is suitable for its recipient and contains no harmful items.
