We have not had any water in our office trailer for the last couple of days. First thought was the pipes froze (not uncommon for our facility this time of year). So we examined the piping, put new heat tape around the pipe to thaw it out, and even stuck a torpedo heater under the trailer. Still nothing. Come to find out, Illinois Water accidently shut our water off to the office trailer at the main water feed and didn’t even know it. This would have been nice to know before he had someone crawl underneath the trailer to thaw out frozen pipes that weren’t even frozen!

This pretty much sums it all up

Haha, I guess that puts and end to that! And if I remember correctly, that is the year the Cubs win the World Series which means Hell just froze over!
A buddy of mine shared this and it was too good to pass up!
We were all worried until this completely put that at bay!

Quantum levitation

A thin superconductor layer (~1µm thick) is coated on a sapphire wafer. Quantum physics tells us that the magnetic field penetrates into the superconductor in the form of discrete flux tubes. The superconductor strongly pins these tubes, causing it to float in midair. This effect is called ‘quantum levitation’.

I just got Google TV for Christmas! If you have it, would you mind sharing with me some of your favorite apps?

Looking forward to the beginning of the new era of Cardinal baseball here is St. Louis! A team isn't built around it's manager or one player. It's built around talent, integrity, character, spirit, humility, and knowing that you get paid to play a game that you have loved since you where a child and never taking that for granted! So here’s to the next era in Cardinal baseball! Go Cards!

Has anyone here ever taken the PMP (Project Management Professional) Certification exam? If so what is the best study guide material and where did you take it? Thank you for your help!

A very good timelapse video by Uncage the Soul Productions! Take a look.
YES! Finally! The timelapse video I've been obsessing over is finally finished! "Finding Oregon" is shot entirely in Oregon and features my favorite starry night timelapse shots we've done this year. I ask a simple favor, give it a watch :-) This is my blood, sweat and tears of 2011.
Let me know what you think!

If you're curious about how it was done or what it takes, you can find an informative Q/A and behind the scenes pics over here:

On a different note, my apologies to my absence here on G+. It's been a nutso month online. Gmail was hacked, G+ account deleted, my photography hard drive crashed, and then I've been obsessively working on this video in between working hours. It's had the combining effect to make me withdraw and protectively focus on the tasks at hand. Now that this is finished, I will be painstakingly be re-circling all you awesome people out there and getting back up on the G+ horse.

I heard this song coming into work today on the radio this morning. Loved this song back 15 years ago and still love it today!
