Pure Joy!
Watching this video of Duncan Lou Who, the two-legged boxer puppy, run on his first visit to the beach just made my heart melt.

Homemade Pandesal! I've never baked before so I'm proud of myself. This was my second try. CJ loves bread, so most of this will go to her.

I should have known my laziness would catch up with me one day in a serious way. Sigh. But hopefully things will get better.

I love this place. Very friendly shopkeepers and you'll get a feeling of being in Japan inside. A bit on the pricey side, but this is as authentic as it can get in Manhattan. Highly recommended!

Now that I've seen how Penn Station originally looked like before they tore it down, the current place makes me depressed even more. The city is moving the station across the street to the post office building but that's a really slow process and I doubt it will return this place to it's old grandeur. Nevertheless, another necessary evil major transportation hub in Manhattan. It's a gritty welcome for visitors which is probably a good thing as it keeps expectations low. It could only get better from here right?

Long wait, specially late at night. Food was just OK. I would have rated higher if I didn't have to wait long.

Home to the best Farmer's Market in Manhattan. Wednesday and Saturday are the best days for a wider selection. This can be a very crowded park specially during nice days. This is on top of a major subway hub and surrounded by medical, government and educational facilities. A lot of commercial establishments as well. Plus points for the dog run.

Trivia: Japanese ramen place run by Burmese! Very friendly atmosphere and solid ramen selection. I like the specials posted on the wall for various Japanese appetizers. If you live near the area and don't want to travel a few more blocks to some better ramen places, Tabata won't disappoint.

It's very nice now with the fountains but be wary of vendors hawking things to tourists. This place is just a bit too busy for me.

My only complaint is that there is almost always a long line at checkout in this branch at any given time. It also feels like they don't have a full selection of items like the Upper West Side or Harlem branches. I think they've tweaked the selection here to fit a younger less adventurous clientele.
