When my dog got sick with a fever, I came in as a new patient and asked for a Lyme disease test. It came back negative. The vet asked if I wanted additional blood tests. Jaded by past experience, I asked for a prescription for antibiotics as a first step. Four days later, my dog went lame and I went back for the blood tests. A CBC was done in-house in minutes, but it was inconclusive The vet recommended XRays, also inconclusive. Without hesitation, Dr. Mendoza referred me to NC State Small Animal ER. In the hour it took to drive there, my dog was in worse condition and totally unable to walk. It took three days of IV antibiotics to got my dog back on his feet. He had a rare systemic infection of Nocardia. Hard to catch and very difficult to diagnose. Even harder to cure. I'm proud to recommend Stage Road Animal Hospital. They saved my dog's life and restored my faith in professional ethics.

We took our new Rescue beagle lab, Skippy, to Stage Road Animal Hospital and they were wonderful. Even when we were out of town, and a neighbor was caring for Skippy who got injured, Stage Road took great care of him in our absence. I find their prices very reasonable, and an incredible caring staff. I highly recommend them.

We have been taken our dogs and cats here for years. If you don't have an appointment, you might have to wait for an hour or so. The staff is excellent.

Their fees are very reasonable, and their staff is nice and they care a lot about my dog. I very truly thrust their services and would recommend them to all my family members and friends. This place rocks! I have nothing but very positve things to say about their service they provide. Thank you for everything you do!

I take my dog Slick up to Stage Road Animal Hospital all the time- whether she just needs a vaccine or if she gets hurt. The whole team up there is awesome. A full waiting room and office is a pretty good indicator that they have are doing something right... theres always a crowd of people looking to get in the door. I've known them to stay way late in to the evening to finish up all the cases that are waiting to be seen before the doctors go home. I'd recommend this place to anyone needing a high quality vet who won't break the bank. Slick the dog loves it too!

I've been taking my dog here for about 5 years. I have nothing but positive things to say about their service. They've never tried to push questionably unnecessary procedures or medicines for my (now elderly) dog and I really appreciate that. Their fees are very reasonable. The staff is nice and they seem to really care about my dog. I trust their service and would recommend them to anyone.

My son took his injured pitt bull in for an emergency visit. Every person on staff showed care and compassion for his beloved pet. A difficult decision was presented and along with that one special assistant was so kind to help my son work through his loss. Although his loss was great he now takes comfort in how he and his pet were treated. He will take his new pet here when the time is right for a replacement. Thank you Amanda and the staff at Stage Road Animal Hospital. Justin & Tammy

My standard poodle had bloat and had to be taken to the emergency vet in the middle of night. The day after the surgery we picked her up and took her to Stage Road - they knew at least 2 hours before we got there that she was an emergency transfer and that she should be monitored on an EKG machine because of her rapid heart rate. They knew who we were when we walked in the door but let us sit in the waiting room for an hour and half. So my dog who just had major surgery and wouldn't lay down on the hard floor stood there. I even went up and said something about the fact that we were waiting so long...and was told they would get to us! Then when I told the vet that she was suppose to monitored on the EKG machine for the day - he looked scared and said they didn't have one!!!!! My question is how do you monitor an animal’s heart rate during surgery…why wouldn’t you have one??? Needless to say we took her home - she would get better care at home...and even the vet agreed!!! Then on the next visit when I simply stated that I was not happy with the way we were treated when they knew she was an emergency room transfer I was told..."well I'm sure you could see we were busy - our waiting room was full. We've had dogs dropping like flies." Really?!?!?! I wouldn't recommend this vet to anyone who cares about their pets
