On the trail you will find huge boulders and evidence of ice-age glaciers. There is a dam built during the early 1900s when mining was in operation but it was later demolished. The well kept trail is only a quarter mile long but connects to several disused trails leading up to the high rock face on the northernmost portion of Mount Jordan (also called Lone Peak). The best way to access the trail is in the lower Little Cottonwood Canyon park and ride lot across the highway from the park. Mountain Goats live on the rock cliffs on either side of the Canyon, free mounted telescopes are provided next to a Wasatch National Forest trail-guide sign in the parking lot.
