Yes, Coast is a casual beachfront cafe and bar. Chilled Chardonnay, spicy guacamole and warm tortilla chips await; imaginative chefs and California-inspired dishes take the prize. But Coast is also a state of mind.

It’s the moment you breathe in the ocean air, the second you realize maybe you don’t have to go to the office after all. Or even call in. Then you can finally exhale. Coast is where you want to spend the afternoon, any day of the year. Happy Hour, a communal table, a beachside cafe and bar, whether you are walking in off the sand with your family in tow, or meeting up for a cocktail and plate of fries, Coast is the perfect Santa Monica Restaurant to enjoy dining on the coast.

Would give less than a star if it were possible. Don't do it - would have had a more pleasant experience burning $80 than eating there. Fish and chips - only okay thing was the sauce. They only give you half a fish - you get more batter than you get fish. You can buy the same thing from the supermarket, $4 for 6. Whoever cooked this has never eaten proper fish and chips in their life. Spaghetti - you pay $30 for them to heat up some store bought pasta and toss it around with some oil and like 4 chopped up Cherry tomotoes. Oh and a basil leaf - I would recommend rationing it out if you want the dish to have some flavor. Drinks - mango papaya smoothie and 200ml glass of oj $23 usd. Had way better and way more for way less. Service was below average and food took a while to get to our table. It took 20 mins just for them to take our order. And just to top it off, waiter gave food to wrong table. You would think charging 5x more than every other restaurant they'd be able to keep track of orders. Very disappointed.

You definitely are paying for the view and the setting, which are stunning. The food, if you order carefully, is pretty good...and is at luxury hotel pricing. The service can be uneven...but still this is one of my favorite occasional escapes for ricotta pancakes, or a Cesar salad.

A great restaurant with amazing views of the Santa Monica beach and pier. I suggest making a reservation since it's a pretty popular place. Their breakfast is amazing as is their dinner. It's a nice restaurant that feels very spacious with both indoor and outdoor seating. There are often families there. Definitely a place I would bring family members who are visiting from out of town.

Among the better casual places in the area to enjoy the beach and a meal or drinks.

I cannot say enough terrible things about this place. Everything was terrible except the service, it was beyond terrible. I would need a thesaurus to describe how bad it was.

Don't eat here its a total rip off. $72 for fish & chips (fish that was minced then battered, fries out of a bag) and one Caesar salad. Drinks were water & coffee which we had to order twice. You'd get a better meal up the road at Cha Cha Chicken for half that money and better service. Why have such a great location then be so lacking in the food quality and customer care ?

Expensive, poor menu, mediocre food, and sour wine. First visit was mediocre, second was just plain terrible.

Nice view of the beach and a little bit high prices
