I ventured out this morning to run an errand and took a slight detour to the hill overlooking Bowmont Park to snap a few photos of the flooding. The water  immediately at the bottom of the hill conceals a gravel pit and pathways.

Took advantage of the winter closure of Highway 40 through Kananaskis to ride up to Highwood Pass. Apparently this is Canada's highest paved pass. There a lot of other people riding it as well. On the way back down we spotted a couple grizzlies beside the road. They pretty much ignored us and were focused on turning over clumps of soil to eat roots of the new grass.

My son and I were out a few days ago and encountered a fox on the side of the road. It didn't seem too concerned about us being there. I suspect it had a potential meal in the ditch - possibly a rabbit. We were able to take a few pictures before carrying on.

This post reminds me of the Mexican Exploding Hammer videos (like this one Exploding Hispanic Hammers!). I want some sort of community gathering like this!

Radiolab did a piece about Bob Milne - a guy with the ability to run 4 separate pieces of music in his head simultaneously at the correct tempo. The way he relates to music is amazing.
