Worth what you pay for shows here, though we really never use the "amenities." Not sure why some people think you can't choose your own seats here--as they point out all over online and in the theatre you can choose seats in advance, at the theatre kiosk or if you buy a ticket at the door they show you a screen where you can pick out your own seats. There's literally no way you can go in *unless* you've chosen your seat in advance. smh Anyway, though the weekend nighttime adult ticket prices top out at $13, I've found the prices for beer and food to be surprisingly reasonable, for such high quality choices. It's the only way to see a movie on the big screen these days. And the underground, arthouse, limited release films that come here can't be found anywhere else.

Definitely one of my favorite movie spots in Madison, especially because there are significantly less children/teenagers. They often have releases that other theaters don't have also, as well as a nicer atmosphere.

This is the nicest theater I have ever been to! Everything about it was fantastic, the decoration, the food and drinks, and especially the theater chairs (most comfortable chairs ever) i could stay here all day watching movies and not get bored. GREAT PLACE!

No doors seemed to be labeled "Sundance Cinema." Despite that confusion I really enjoyed the place. The aesthetics of the whole area of the movie theater are phenomenal. Lots of browns, lots of metal, a little bit of a rustic feel. There's a coffee shop and lounge with lots of couches right outside the theaters so you can sit and talk with your friends about the movie you just saw together. The theater itself has a nice modern set-up with comfortable chairs and stadium seating. Seating is actually assigned so if you get your ticket early you can still show up close to start and get a reasonable seat.

A friend once suggested that the amenity charged for tickets at this theater was to keep the "riff raff" out. I'm not sure if that was the intention, but it seems to be the result. I go to a lot of movies, and I can count on one hand the number of times that that my experience has been ruined by rude patrons at Sundance.

This is my favorite theater in Madison. Commercials do not play, and you get to choose your seats before you enter the hall.

A fantastic theater with the perfect mix of new blockbuster and independent films. Probably the biggest selling points for me are the ban on ads before the film and a two trailer maximum. Having a respite from sitting through 10 minutes of ads and 20 minutes of trailers in other theaters is a wonderful thing. Also, a nice tip if you enjoy midnight releases is that you can buy your ticket and seat online. I saw Dark Knight Rises this way and instead of arriving an hour early to wait in line I just showed up about 5 minutes early and took my seat. It really takes the frustration out of midnight releases and you enjoy the film that much more.

Stopped here after sushi morimoto for dessert. We got the flowerless chocolate cake for $8. It was alright. I would have went to gigi's cupcakes if they would have been open. The decor was really nice on the rooftop bar. We'll definitely will be coming back for another date night.
