March is Brain Injury Awareness month (at least in the USA). Public information and education is a priority.
A TBI changes you. Literally and figuratively. My personality is different. My energy levels and sleep patterns are foreign to me. The confused woman in the kitchen staring at the oven is someone I am just now starting to understand....

The Ministry of Social Development posted new figures yesterday showing a massive rise in the number of vulnerable families in urgent and serious need of social housing.

These figures are the result of this Government's policies that have left one in four of our children in poverty.

The Green Party will build more state houses, fund third parties to provide affordable housing, and cap Housing NZ rents at 25% of income. More on our housing policies here: http://bit.ly/TZPsln #Green2014

Voting Green: Elizabeth Thompson What particularly upsets her is social inequality. “It is wicked that NZ kids are dying at 3rd world rates –I grew up with this idea of expectation of equality."

This morning John Key met with visiting Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, who has said he will look for ways to continue whaling despite the International Court of Justice (ICJ) ruling that Japan must halt its activities in the Southern Ocean.

Rather than take a strong stand on the issue, it seems John Key is happy to ignore Japan's whaling. New Zealand should be seeking a concrete assurance from Japan that they will not flout the ICJ's ruling. bit.ly/1motMdA

Business-people vote Green too ... Viv Kerr: "The Greens’ decision-making is transparent. I was a really new member when they developed a new policy on the Christchurch earthquake, and I thought it was cool that they asked for feedback from members on that. The Greens walk the walk.”
