Batches 2, 3, and 4. Sumatra Mandehling. 405g total starting weight, 330.7g finished weight. All three batched got about 20 seconds into second crack. Looks a lot more uniform than my first two batches and quite a bit darker. Looking forward to brewing some Monday.

Tastes great too! Batches 1&2 were a little under roasted and tasted a little woody-ish. These were almost spot on. I might try adding/subtracting 10 seconds or so to see what happens, but I like how these batches turned out.

Edit: just realized that my original post said this was batches 2, 3, & 4. It should have read 3, 4, & 5.

Todays efforts. Roasted the remainder of the Sumatra, about 20oz finished weight. Also half the El Salvador Majahual - Tablon Tempisque. The El Salvador had a lot more chaff than the Sumatra, and first crack was a lot more apparent.

Went to roast what would have been my second & third batches and found my SR500 with this. The top 1/16 to 1/8 inch of the top of the roasting chamber snapped off in the top of the roaster. :'( :O

Finally got time to break in the new (my first) roaster, Freshroast SR-500. First batch on the bottom left. Was a little uneven and could have been darker. Second batch was a little more uniform even though the time was the same, probably because the roaster wasn't completely cooled off. Was roasting in the garage and could see my breath! Second batch was well into first crack. I'll wait a couple days and probably brew some Sunday afternoon. Oh, those are valve bags to allow for off gassing.
