Charlotte Crocheters’ 2nd annual Stitch n Pitch
Charlotte Knights vs. Buffalo Bisons
Saturday June 29th 2013
Our 2nd annual Stitch n Pitch is coming up!  If you don’t know what a Stitch n Pitch is, it is where we sit together in the stands, watch the Charlotte Knights play baseball, and crochet!  We draw for prizes throughout the game and watch the fireworks after the game!
The game starts at 7:15 pm and everyone is welcome to bring their family and friends!  Of course you can just meet us there if you just want to drive on your own.
We will be sitting in the General Admission section 106 in the upper nosebleed level.  There is an elevator and it is also handicap accessible.
Tickets are either $8 or $9 per person (depending where you look online).  I can’t find anywhere on the website how much they are if bought at the stadium.  In one place it says $9 for adults and $8 for seniors but when you go to buy them, they are $8 ea.

Car pooling:
We will leave promptly at 6:00 pm from Five Guys so please RSVP if you want to meet us there to car pool or just drive with us.  I will need to know if you will be a rider or a driver for the carpooling
Parking is $5 CASH per car.  Since parking is $5 a car, please give your driver your fair share for the parking and gas.

Directions from Charlotte:
Take Interstate 77 south to Exit 88 "Gold Hill Road" which is just two miles south of the NC/SC state line. Make a left at the light at the top of the exit ramp. The stadium will be about a quarter of a mile on your right.

Tuesday we are doing Tunisian crochet or otherwise known as the afghan stitch. For those that know the basic Tunisian stitch, I'm also going to bring some advanced Tunisian stitch patterns as well! So bring some practice yarn and your Tunisian hooks and join us Tuesday night at Five Guys from 5:30pm-8:30pm.

An FYI on the Fibre fair that was to be held next month.  It was canceled and this is the info I received on it:
Creatively Dyed Yarn
For personal reason I have to delay Charlotte Fiber Festival until later on this year. My presence is required elsewhere during that same time period that I couldn't foresee when the dates for the show was originally created. To the vendors who have already signed up for the inconvenience you will receive an extra booth.

An email will be sent to everyone with the new dates as soon as they become available.

We are going to go to the Carolina Alpaca Celebration on Saturday. We are meeting at Five Guys burgers and fries for our meeting at 11am but leaving there around noon to go see these lovely cute animals... Come join the fun! Free admission but $5 for parking.

Wow!!! Things remembered welcomed us with open arms. They gave us a discount and Joy talked about the different yarns. She had cider, coffee and cookies too! We then went to Longcreek mills. If anyone needs cotton yarn, like OMGosh!!!! They had the spools of cotton for $4.99. They also had huge and I mean over a foot in diameter spools in white and white crochet thread in spools around 8" in diameter! Went to Tony's for lunch then Hobby Lobby. Was disappointed that their Hobby Lobby is not any better than ours anymore. Off to Mary Jo's and lots of buttons to look at. Found broomstick lace needles, Clover Steel hooks and animal eyes! A good day had by all I believe...

Getting ready to go on Charlotte Crocheters field trip to Gastonia and get us some yarn!!  Meeting at McDonald's at 9am today!

Tuesday we are learning the puff, cluster, and popcorn stitches! I take requests so just let me know what you would like to learn!
