The service was subpar at best. The food was terrible the enchiladas were something that I expected from my middles school cafeteria and the beef tips were dry. On top of that no one came by and asked if our food was good. We only saw our waiter 4 times. This was a very disappointing experience.

The patio and view of the hill country is really nice, but the food is not good. We had a couple of breakfast tacos and the sausage Migas. The salsa wasn't even good...kind of like canned tomatoes with a some weak spice. With so many excellent tex-mex eateries in the Austin area, it's amazing this place can survive.

This location has gone down hill. My family and I have been going there regularly since they opened, Occasionally with a hiccup in service, with a rational explanation, short staffed, your ticket got dropped, etc. Tonight was horrible, very crowded and loud, still waiting over 40 minutes for our food, I was told by the waitress that because I ordered a chicken breast and it had to be cooked through and that is what caused the delay, BS, Other people that came in at the same time were already finishing eating. I told my husband just to pay for out drinks and app's. and I left. The food finally came before my husband could get the bill and he stayed and ate with our son. I will NEVER go back to this location.

First visit with female friend Friday night and the place was packed. Standard enchilada plate, with little flavor, and not at all distinguishable from an Old El Paso frozen dinner with chopped iceberg lettuce and tomato for the taco. Margarita was pretty good my friend said. Waitress was a real pest until she left the bill. Then we waited, and waited, and waited for her to come back to get the CC. Finally had to walk to the front to pay. Then they had to track her down because she had to run the card. Forgiddabout it.

I looked at their menu and being from a Mexican family and being that I am also from the Rio Grande Valley I know good Mexican and Tex Mex, i can honestly say that im disappointed to see they do not have posole, menudo, caldo de rez, etc... everything on their menu is in English with a few broken words of Spanish. after reading all the reviews and through my friends and Co workers comments I will never go to this place. sorry.

I love coming to this place for the Power Bowl. I am very disappointed with their salsa. It is 90% ketchup. The chips are great but they definitely new more onions and cilantro in the salsa.

This is not the place to go for Tex-Mex. I'll admit, I am a little biased after growing up in San Antonio, but I found that Maudie's did not live up to the hype. First, the queso. I have heard how great their queso is and was really looking forward to a nice bowl of liquid cheese on some salty chips. What I received was what tasted like canned cheese with an attempt to spice it up. While dining, I overheard a diner state "Sometimes you get good queso and sometimes it isn't so good. Today is a good day." What?!? Ugh, I'd hate to taste it on a 'bad' day. Since it was my first visit, I ordered a simple cheese enchilada plate. Everything was average. The enchiladas would benefit from a strong, chili meat topping but weren't bad. The rice and beans were standard fare. My waiter was nice, but didn't really go out of his way to create a pleasant dining experience. I was just another table. Given the limited amount of options out in Bee Caves, I'm sure Maudie's is one of the few places to go for Tex-Mex. My recommendation is to find another type of cuisine and enjoy Tex-Mex another day.
