I probably trended way lower than should be on the age because I used "herp derp" in an email.

Watching "Having a Wild Weekend" on TCM starring The Dave Clark Five. Directed by John Boorman. IMDB synopsis: "Dinah is a model whose face appears in an ad campaign for meat. While shooting a TV commercial, she and Steve, one of the stunt men, run off together. The advertising executives use their disappearance to generate more publicity for... meat." WIN, WIN, WON!

Our crappy, mismanaged utility, Progress Energy, shat in their own reactor, and we're paying for repairs, whether it gets fixed or not. Now the rest of the country may feel our pain.

This is on the 600 block of Central Ave. in St. Petersburg, on the side of the Central Coffee Shop, adjacent to the parking lot by the Holocaust Museum.

One group says avoid exposure to infectious viruses, germs, etc is to be avoided at all costs. Another group lets their kids play in the dirt, figuring what doesn't kill ya makes ya stronger. Count me in with the dirtbags.

Cheap. Rooms are small and clean, wifi included. TVs are archaic CRTs. Somehow, even though we reserved weeks in advance, and the place was mostly empty, they couldn't get us two adjoining ground-floor rooms as we had requested. A really filthy 24-foot flatbed truck with a drill rig backed up to the curb in front of our room, leaving us about two feet to get in the door, and the front desk was unsympathetic, saying "you can get in, it's ok." At 1 a.m. the Denny's restaurant located directly across the parking lot - like 50 feet away from our room - started pressure washing the grease traps with a gas-powered pressure washer. That lasted till 2 a.m. A call to the front desk resulted in the apologetic, "it's the only time we can do it." Conveniently located directly across the street from the fading Silver Springs, although it's apparent from the parking lots not many people are going there. The pleasant-enough Denny's and vaguely Irish-themed bar that won't let you take your overpriced glass of wine back to your room add absolutely no class to this last-resort place to sleep.
