Just saw this interersting visualization of how much data is being generated in real time by the largest internet companies.  It's mind boggling.
From tweets to likes, see how fast data is generated every second on the internet in this interactive visualization.

I'm really excited to see Blake and GoDaddy take a stand for Net Neutrality and the impact it has on small businesses.

"It is incumbent on the FCC to protect an open Internet…" —GoDaddy CEO, +Blake Irving
GoDaddy CEO Blake Irving sent a letter about the Net Neutrality issue to the chairman of the FCC. Read what Blake has to say about an open Internet.

I played hide-and-seek with Bugdroid and his dog at Google I/O 2014! Do you want to join the search? #iohunt

I did an interview with Web Hosting Industry Review (WHIR) on how GoDaddy is using Hangouts.  Check it out.

I have always been a fan of Frank Zappa, after seeing him a few times in concert in my earlier days.  I love that these scientists honored him in naming the bacteria they discovered that is the first human to plant microbe transfer.

The GoDaddy Big Leap contest is really fun. 5 contestants are pitching their small business idea but one of them realized they needed to make the pitch in 3 minutes to Danica Patrick while she drove them around the track at 125 MPH. The person who gets the most votes will get 6 months funding to follow their dream.

I like Kyle Mauch and his work with big name athletes on limited edition apparel sold during 2 week sprints that has 10% of the proceeds going to the athletes charity of choice. Check it out at www.thebigleap.com

Minor league baseball fun.  You won't see this at the World Series.

I just learned about Lantern, an app you install which allows people in places without internet censorship to provide open access points to those in countries that censor their citizens.  You can learn more and check it out  at https://www.getlantern.org/
Defeat internet censorship. Give or get access to the open internet by sharing connections through your social network.

TORs purpose is anonymity while Lanterns is access.  Lantern uses P2P so users have faster access with less load on any computer but requires a trusted network of friends (up to 4 degrees away) which does add some risk of monitoring.

I can't wait for Google I/O tomorrow.  While I will soak everything in on Wednesday, something came up and I won't be able to go back on Thursday.  Hit me up if you want to take my place on day 2.

My wife and I went whale watching Saturday from Pier 39 for a 6 hour tour.  We went all the way out to the Farallon Islands, 27 miles out.  We saw 7 grey whales in two pods plus some harbor porpoises and lots of different birds include Murre's, which are related to penguins and are all over the island.  I really enjoyed it, but for the 1/3 of the folks who got seasick within an hour of leaving the calmer bay, it was a long day.

I'm heading to WordCamp Phoenix tomorrow to be part of the GoDaddy Managed WordPress launch.  This is a great product that makes it really easy to use WordPress with GoDaddy providing an optimized hosting infrastructure.  Sites are incredibly fast and reliable with really strong security and a fraction of the cost of competitors offerings. You can read about it at http://goo.gl/Luoc5g   Later this afternoon you will see the product on GoDaddy's site replacing the prior non-managed WordPress offering here: http://www.godaddy.com/hosting/wordpress-hosting.aspx
