Rocky Mountain Goat
Part of the Goat-Antelopr family.
These nimble climbers are found in many of the alpine mountain ranges from Alaska, Canada, and the Rocky Mountains.
Their cloven toes have rough pads that can spread to give them an amazing ability to climb steep, rocky terrain.

Frosty Morning Face Off

American Bison

These majestic creatures once roamed the plains of North America in the millions.
At one time hunted to near extinction, their numbers have once again risen to be classified as "near threatened (population stable)."
This female weighs close to 1400lbs (635kg).  Her male counterparts can easily weigh 2000lbs (907kg) to 2200lbs (997kg).
The fur being so thick that frost and snow can sit on them and not melt.

L ROD
In 2010 when the park first opened as a high school student she welcomed guest at the ticket booth.  She also served Bearizona as an ambassador and on the animal staff.
Today she took care of the animals for the last time.  Tomorrow, it is time to crack the books as a nursing student.
We wish Lisa the best as she begins a new chapter in her life

Coues Deer

This little doe enjoys some sun between snow storms.
Today, more snow.  The gang spent all day clearing snow for our visitors.
Still an awesome time to visit.  Most animals have no problem with a little inclement weather.
