Excellent article on the infamous Mojave Desert Dorr Underground River of Gold, well researched and very complete:

https://www.kcet.org/shows/artbound/kokoweef-still-searching-for-the-lost-river-of-gold
The Kokoweef legend peddling E.P. Dorr’s Lost River of Gold has mesmerized Mojave Desert treasure seekers for over 80 years now, but is it geologically possible?

Great picture of a beautiful desert location (somewhere in Death Valley, perhaps?)

The author responded at the original post, and it's Death Valley indeed (he didn't say where in Death Valley exactly, tho).

Interesting take about someone else's love for the Mojave desert. Contrary to her, I've never felt danger in the Mojave. It's more like a sister, or a good old friend welcoming you with open arms, when you finally come home after spending too much time away....

Definitely, Big Solar is not Nature-friendly... it's past due that America starts really investing in rooftop solar and stop mega-destructive projects in the Nation's irreplaceable desert lands.

Interesting idea...
A design workshop and contest will result in three to-scale habitat prototypes of Martian cities.

This is another project that should not be allowed to move forward.

B LM does the unthinkable. Are they corrupt, incompetent, or just plain stupid? I hope the desert conservation groups sue the hell out of this destructive, pointless project.
If LADWP and San Bernardino County are better at protecting the desert than your land management agency is, your agency really needs a time-out to think about what it did.

Intriguing article on Joshua Trees
The genetic map of the Joshua tree may hold hints as to how to keep the trees around a while longer.
