HypeDyn 2 (very much an alpha version) has just been released for testing:
https://github.com/narrativeandplay/hypedyn2/releases/tag/0.22.2-alpha

Anyone out there who has used the original HypeDyn (those who took NM3222, I'm looking at you...), it would be great if you can help to test the new version. The editor has been completely re-written. If you want to try using your old stories, let me know and I can help to export them to the new file format. Thanks!
HypeDyn 2 version 0.22.2 alpha has just been released:
https://github.com/narrativeandplay/hypedyn2/releases/tag/0.22.2-alpha

HypeDyn 2 is a complete re-write of the original HypeDyn. The editor has been rebuilt from scratch, but the reader was ported over from the old version. This is a pre-release version, so no documentation or examples are included.

We are looking for testers, particularly anyone who has experience with HypeDyn. If you are feeling brave, please grab the latest build from the link above, and post any issues you find on GitHub here:

Thanks!

Workshop proposal submission deadline extended to July 31st.

So far, we have received some great workshop proposals for the Workshop Day at the International Conference on Interactive Digital Storytelling on December 1st in Copenhagen.

However, we are sure that there are a couple of great proposals that are just missing the last commas, and that many people are still enjoying their summer holidays, so we have extended the deadline for the ICIDS 2015 workshop proposal to July 31st.

So whether you’re a researcher, developer, artist, practitioner or something else - if you have an idea for a workshop related to, or with elements of, interactive (digital) storytelling, please do send us your proposal.

The accepted proposals are planned to be included in the conference proceedings LNCS / Springer.

You can submit your workshop proposals here:
http://icids2015.aau.dk/workshops/
(via email to ICIDS2015Workshops@gmail.com)

-And please read more about the conference here:

We are looking forward to receiving your workshop proposals.

All the best,

CNM Tenure-track Assistant Professor position (Media Art)

The Department of Communications and New Media at the National University of Singapore (NUS) seeks to hire a tenure-track Assistant Professor with a research and teaching focus on Media Art. We are interested in candidates who explore media art across disciplines and forms that might include games, interactive exhibitions, or location-specific installations, and that engage critically with social issues. We encourage applications from candidates who combine interdisciplinary research and creative practice.

CNM's Interactive Media Design is an interdisciplinary group of researchers who specialise in emergent issues at the intersections of media theory, art, design, and HCI. Faculty normally teach two courses per semester and supervise honours and graduate research students. Compensation at NUS is highly competitive and includes  eligibility for annual salary increments, performance bonuses, subsidised housing and other benefits, as well as generous research support.

The successful candidate is expected to be an excellent researcher with a strong publication record; a teacher able to teach a mix of theory and studio/design modules for both undergraduate and graduate students; and an effective supervisor of undergraduate and graduate research. The successful candidate will teach core CNM interactive media design courses as well as courses in his/her area of specialisation. For a representative overview of relevant modules, see the "Interactive Media Design" offerings at http://www.fas.nus.edu.sg/cnm/index.php/undergraduate/module-overview

Candidates selected for interviews will be invited to do a teaching presentation (to representative undergraduate and graduate students) as well as a research presentation to the faculty. A PhD in a related field is required. The successful candidate will be expected to start teaching in August 2015.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Applicants should submit the following materials:

1. Statements of research and teaching interests
2. A updated curriculum vitae (including education, employment history, public and professional service, honours and awards, and a complete list of publications, exhibitions and creative works if appropriate)
3. Original undergraduate and graduate transcripts
4. Names, affiliates, and contact details of 3 referees
5. Copies of 3-5 articles or chapters representing best work, and if appropriate, portfolio of design/creative
work

Application Deadline: We will begin evaluating candidates by February 1, 2015, but the position will remain open until a suitable candidate is found. We strongly uphold the principle of non-discrimination and encourage every qualified individual to apply.

Enquiries and applications should be sent to Gayathri Dorairaju, Department of Communications and New Media, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, National University of Singapore, Blk AS6, #03-41, 11 Computing Drive, Singapore, 117416. Tel: (65) 6516-4670. Applicants can email CNMCAREER@NUS.EDU.SG with their submissions.
