Communities are learning more and more about receiving their returning war veterans. Last year we brought you the story of the Welcome Home Project, and a visit with some of the combat veterans whose lives it changed. This Friday, November 8 at 8:30pm PT on
Southern Oregon Public Television and the IP Website we catch up with one of those veterans, who's found his calling by writing songs about his wartime story and traveling to sing them to others who shared his experience. We also explore veterans courts, a new initiative that aims to heal rather than punish veterans who commit crimes after they return. http://ow.ly/qvLNl

Our Next Immense Possibility:
Friday, November 1, at 8:30pm, on public tv SOPTV and the IP website.
Many of our elders want to stay in their own homes and neighborhoods as long as they can. What would happen if organized groups of volunteers helped them with simple daily chores, offered a bit of warm companionship, and arranged for other services to be provided as needed? This week we discover how the Village to Village Network and Ashland at Home do exactly that. There are some very happy people who would have otherwise needed to leave their homes. (And the volunteers are pretty satisfied, too.) http://ow.ly/qkbcx
