This is an old hotel with a superficial recent renovation. The first room they put me in -- the bathroom had a leaky ceiling. When engineering came, he touched the ceiling with his finger and a torrent of filthy black water came down. I was all set to stay for a week but had to change rooms. I asked for an upgrade to a better room, but the room they moved me to was worse -- it was on a floor with a filthy carpet in the elevator lobby, and the room was right next to the elevator, which sounded like a distant subway train all night long. They did provide me with club floor access, good for a few chunks of cheese, and one breakfast coupon to make up for my trouble. The "high-speed" Internet access couldn't keep up with YouTube and cost $10.95 Per Device Per Day!!! The telephone system was so clunky and strange that I had not hung it up properly so I missed a crucial wake-up call. (And I am a telecommunications professional with almost three decades in the business.) On the positive side, the beds were comfortable, the coffee maker in the room worked fine, the hotel is close to the Metro and to many good restaurants and stores, there's lots of inexpensive public parking nearby and the people at the front desk were very nice.
