HPBC was pleased to host a visit from World Habitat - previously the Building and Social Housing Foundation (BSHF) - to support their work in promoting community led housing and to raise awareness of projects around the UK that are delivering alternative solutions to tackling the problem of affordable housing. Some of our home partners were interviewed and shared such positive views of their experiences of doing their 'sweat equity' hours and working alongside their future neighbours and our wonderful volunteers. We were also able to share our vision for HPBC's next project, the conversion of St Bernard's church into affordable homes.

At long last we're delighted to announce what will hopefully be our next project. We've submitted a planning application to Liverpool City Council to convert St Bernard's Church, adjacent to our existing Kingsley Road/Alt Street development, into affordable new homes. Fabulous day Saturday celebrating the 15th anniversary of our charity being formed. Amazing that this was all organised by the home partners. Fantastic food...scouse, curry, rice dishes, Spanish dishes, cakes, trifles, and fab BBQ food cooked by master chefs Martin, Nick and Warren. Special thanks to: Hannah, Julia, Chris, Joyce, and Jess for organising; Echlas, Sidra and Saba for the children's face painting and 'street art'; and HPBC trustee Bill for his balloon artistry!

It was a lovely surprise to have a group from Frankfurt drop in yesterday. They're in Liverpool for the week on a study tour and were interested in finding out more about HPBC's work. It was a pleasure to be able to show them around the lovely community. Many thanks for the very generous donation to our charity :-)
