Ok firstly this is a 100% genuine review. I was given a gift voucher by my son on my birthday ( the reason I didn't complain in the shop at the time) for a cut and hot towel shave. I was greeted at reception and asked to sit on the sofa but the sofa was being taken up by staff members folding towels, no problem I squished on the other 2 seater sofa with another customer. I was then taken to my seat by a pleasant young lady ( I won't name her as I'm not a nasty person). She did give me a nice cut but was rough as best with the comb regularly bashing into my ears and scraping on my scalp. ( my usual 19st barber is much much gentler so I would have expected a comfortable experience considering the extortionate price. The hot towel shave went well if again very rough! Then came the prolonged and pushy "these are the products we used on you today" sales pitch..... Then the " book your next appointment" pitch. All in all It didn't feel like a premium experience, but just felt like they were trying to pry as much money out of you as possible! I was however tempted by the hair product that cost £16.95 which I bought only to check my credit card tonight was charged £21... I'm afraid I would certainly not recommend Windsor Barbers... Expensive and a sub standard service coupled by the feeling of being ripped off!! UPDATE - in response to Windsor Barbers reply 11/8/16- Thanks for your defamatory reply. I was CATEGORICALLY NOT told why I had been charged £21... The gift voucher bought by my son was described, at the point of sale as exactly the service I received! And was meant to be the ultimate pampering barber experience, certainly the price tag would suggest this, alas it wasn't up to my expectations. So I'm still bewildered as to why I was charged extra????? Ok moving on I would agree 100% that quality costs and in reply to whether I had a quality cut and shave-, I can only speak from personal experience and can honestly say my usual barber here in Ammanford charges £16 for exactly the same described service as I received at Windsor barbers, but to a MUCH higher standard, being much gentler, far less rushed and with no sales pitch! If you correctly recall I said I looked like a new man! Which is to be expected as I'd just had the best part of £80 worth of treatment but after everything, the rather rough treatment and sales pitch I certainly didn't FEEL like a new man! What amuses, or maybe alarms me is your very aggressive and defensive reply to what could be taken, by any forward thinking business owner, as constructive criticism? What happened to the customer is always right? If it was me I would be addressing these shortcomings forthwith rather than defending myself in a pathetic " I'm never wrong" manner! I only started reading these reviews after my experience, and it seems I'm not alone in my disappointment. My advice- tackle criticism head on and your reviews will no longer be tanking! After all this is the future ! I wish you the very best. G
