For those who couldn't attend the Texas GOP Senate debate last week, I offer my grades on each candidate.

In the morning she was a little more awake then she was yesterday, which is because she had a good night sleep on a soft bed in a warm house, probably for the first time in her life.

This is the single best response I've read about the entire Penn State child rape & cover up scandal so far.

This story makes me sick. There simply is no way Joe Paterno should still be coaching at Penn State for a moment longer.
Sandusky was a sexual predator from approximately 1994 to 2009. And Penn State did nothing to stop him, despite knowing that he was raping children on their campus.

Dear Lord. The witness is now a coach as well? They should all lose their jobs, be sued civilly, prosecuted for whatever hasn't exceeded the statute of limitations, and rode out of town on a rail. A child was being raped and no one stepped in to protect that child? They are NOT men.

Which, much like his shove-it-down-your-throats Obamacare fiasco, puts Obama squarely in the minority on another issue near-and-dear to most Americans.

Omar is the most knowledgeable and entertaining writer left at the AA-S, and one of the last reasons I still bother to read our local rag at all.

To all who served before me, to those with whom I served, and to those who serve today — thank you. Of all of my life’s accomplishments and achievements, I am most proud of having been a Soldier.

Heinlein wrote: “The noblest fate that a man can endure is to place his own mortal body between his loved home and the war’s desolation.” We all forever owe a tremendous debt of gratitude to the men and women who have done so.

I'm a fan of our Governor (Perry) and have always supported him. But I've really been impressed with the campaign of Newt Gingrich more than any of the other GOP candidates running.

Gingrich is the only one who knows how to stick it to the press, for sure! I still love Perry, but I agree that Gingrich has been impressive.

For Halloween, I like to dress up as Santa Clause, then sit out on the front porch and invite the kids to sit in Santa's Lap if they want some candy. It confuses the kids and freaks out the parents.

Win-win.

About me:

I'm a loud Texan, independent biker, and proud veteran of the United States Army (combat medic).

I've been writing my blog, UrbanGrounds, since September 2004; many consider it to be the most influential Conservative blog in Austin. Trying to have an impact on local elections, campaigns, and issues, but opine frequently on the mess in D.C., too.

My blog is just a hobby, but I am a professional writer by day. I never write about my day job, though. My views on Google+, just as they are on my blog, are mine alone and do not represent the views of my corporate gig.
